  1. Ghostscript v2.6.1 For Linux Binary

  4. This version has been patched so that it will run much much much faster
  5. with your SVGA console.
  6.  
  7. The file "un-tar"s from the root directory.
  8.  
  9. Try the exmaples in /usr/lib/ghostscript/examples and see the speed improvement.
  10. Try the file tiger.ps and see what you think
  11.  
  12. The file is gs261.tgz.
  13.  
  14. It has been uploaded to sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming
  15. and hopefully will be moved to /pub/apps/maths
  16.  
  17. If you like the improvement then why don't you drop me mail to say so.

  20. Now you no longer have to wait for the screen to be blanked to white before gs
  21. starts drawing.
